Miiko Peris

Miiko Peris has held the position of Director of the Defense Industry Development Department at the Estonian Ministry of Defense since May 2025. From 2022-2025 he served as the Director of Innovation Department at the Estonian MoD. Mr Peris joined the Ministry of Defence in March 2020. Prior to joining the Ministry, Mr Peris has held various positions at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. He has also worked in the Government Office of Estonia (European Union Department) and has worked as a diplomat during the Estonian Presidency of the European Union (EU). In that capacity, he was also the EU Presidency´s representative to the International Maritime Organization in London and served under the Estonian as well as the Bulgarian Presidencies of the EU. He has also worked as a Member of Cabinet for the European Commission Vice-President, Mr Siim Kallas. Miiko Peris holds a Master´s degree in International Relations from the University of Warwick, UK. He also holds a Master´s degree in Public Administration from the Tallinn University of Technology, Ragnar Nurkse School of Governance.
