Diehl Defence to showcase counter-drone solutions at EDW
One of Europe’s leading defence technology companies, Diehl Defence will join Estonian Defence Week 2026 as an exhibitor. At EDW, the company will showcase advanced counter-UAS technologies, including the GARMR System, the Sky Sphere System and the modular GUARDION C-UAS system.
Diehl Defence is a leading system house for state-of-the-art air defence systems as well as high-tech guided missiles, innovative ammunition solutions (including guided ammunition), and special reconnaissance and protection systems such as C-UAS systems.
GARMR is a highly mobile C-UAV system designed for a wide range of operational scenarios, from the protection of critical civilian infrastructure to high-intensity military combat scenarios. Equipped with a remotely controlled weapon station, GARMR uses two interceptor drone technologies for both short-range (GARMR SRS) and medium-range (GARMR MRS) engagements. GARMR SRS, for example, uses the eMissile CICADA (see below). The system is already successfully in operation in Ukraine.
As part of the Sky Sphere C-UAV system, Diehl Defence will also present the electrically propelled eMissile CICADA designed to defend against Class I and small Class II drones. With a range of approximately 5 km, the missile is effective against both individual drones and swarm attacks. Depending on the mission profile, drones can either be neutralized non-lethally using a catch net or intercepted lethally with a fragmentation warhead.
Furthermore, the company will showcase GUARDION, a modular drone detection and defence system designed for the non-kinetic protection of critical assets, infrastructure and events. The system combines different sensors and effectors, including the HPEM SkyWolf for the defence against single Class I drones and entire swarms. GUARDION is available in multiple stationary and mobile variants, e.g. GUARDION Mobile, GUARDION for GBAD or GUARDION Stationary.
Estonian Defence Week, taking place in Tallinn on 21–25 September 2026, is one of the largest defence and security events in the Baltic region. Returning for its second edition, EDW is designed to bring together the most important domains and leading stakeholders of the defence sector, connecting decision-makers, industry, innovators and partners to strengthen cooperation, showcase capabilities and advance resilience across the region and beyond
