Arno Vaik

Arno Vaik has been CEO of the Estonian defense technology company Threod Systems since early 2020. Threod Systems develops and manufactures unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition solutions, and launcher systems for one-way effectors and target drones. During his tenure, the company’s revenue increased from EUR 1.3 million to EUR 48 million, while headcount grew from approximately 50 to nearly 200.

As CEO, Vaik has focused on business development and expanding the company’s international customer base. He has driven market-share growth and stronger financial performance by streamlining internal processes and advancing collaboration and product-development initiatives with European and global defense industry partners.

Vaik holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Tartu and a Master’s degree in Economics, specializing in Strategic Management, from the same university. In addition, he has undertaken postgraduate studies in Information Systems Design and Analysis at Tallinn University of Technology.

Under Vaik’s leadership, Threod Systems continues to strengthen its position in unmanned aviation and related subsystems, providing complete solutions as well as high-end components to customers worldwide. The company’s engineering teams develop advanced defense technologies that support defense capability development in Estonia and across Europe.
