Paula Hartley

Paula J. Hartley is vice president of Strategy and Business Development for Lockheed Martin’s $14 billion Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) business. In this role, Paula is responsible for leading MFC’s global strategy and business development activities for innovative, competitive and reliable solutions which enable Lockheed Martin partners to create a more secure and prosperous world.

Previously, Paula was vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin’s Tactical Missiles business, leading the corporation’s execution, strategy, growth and global deployment of Precision Fires and Close Combat Systems.

Paula’s career spans more than four decades with Lockheed Martin, where she has held a series of increasingly demanding technical and leadership roles in the MFC, Space and Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business areas.

She served as the vice president of MFC’s Enterprise Performance, including Information Technology and Transformation. There, she drove program execution through proactive and collaborative program partnership, laid the foundation for digital and business transformation, and ensured 100% mission success across MFC’s portfolio.

Paula also served as the Owego general manager and vice president of the Advanced Product Solutions Market Segment at RMS. In that role, she delivered electronic warfare, directed energy and open architecture systems to space, air, ground and surface platforms.

Other notable roles include vice president and program manager for the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite R-Series, program director for Global Communications Satellites Systems and director for Safety and Product Assurance for Space.

Paula holds a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Tulane University. She was recognized by Business Insider as one of the Most Powerful Female Engineers of 2018. New Orleans City Business recognized her as the Woman of the Year in 2007 and as a member of the Power Generation in 2000. Paula is a NOVA Award recipient, Lockheed Martin’s highest honor for achievement. Professional affiliations include the Association of the United States Army.
